The Mighty Work of One Little Man!

A small portion of these books were already out. Macey had stacked them up neatly by size so that we could easily put them away...Owen got to them first...and then added MANY more just to sweeten the deal.

Owen's first major fall!

We knew it would happen sooner or later, with the way he climbs on everything, but...oh so very sad. He was standing behind me on my sewing desk chair and was trying to climb down. He slipped and fell and landed on an open drawer (one of the girls had left a toy drawer open). He cried so hard that he wore himself out in about 20 minutes and fell asleep in my arms. The picture doesn't show it but it is a little swollen as well. Poor little guy.

Owen's asleep...shhh

These pictures are from a while ago but I just had to share them on here. I had put Owen down for his nap one day and he was in there playing and talking for quite a while. When I finally didn't hear him anymore I went in to check on him and this is what I found! This cannot be comfortable at all.

Notice the drool under his chin!

Easter

For 3 days leading up to Easter Penelope was very sick. :(

While Penelope was at home sick with Phillip, I took Owen and Macey to an Easter egg hunt.

Owen was so sweet, he gave one of his eggs to a little boy who was walking by. I wish I could have taken a picture of it.

Macey was excited to get her face painted but...

They used acrylic paint! It dried so fast and so hard that Macey could not even move her face. Poor girl, we went right into the bathroom to wash it off.

Now for Easter morning:
Penelope's doing a little dance

Macey turned 7!!!

We had Macey's birthday party at the park. March 15th...it was VERY cold! The good thing was that we had the park to ourselves since it was so windy and cold.
She picked a #7 pinata. Macey got to go first since she's the birthday girl...one hit was all it took!
Grandma and Grandpa Sanchez gave Macey a bike! Her old one was the right size for Penelope, Macey's knees were up in her chest while she was trying to pedal.
Macey's new love: littlest pet shop
Nothing quite like a staged smile for the camera!

Come to find out...Owen is 99% monkey and only 1% boy

Okay, these pictures are the 99% monkey pictures. He is ALWAYS (almost literally) climbing on or in something. I seriously have to get him off of the chairs, table, or the back of the couch/chair at LEAST 15 times a day, at LEAST...it really gets to be ridiculous sometimes.

In the background of this picture you can see the kitchen chairs up against the back of the couch. This is to keep him from climbing up on the table. I left one chair in there for a few minutes and this is what happened.
If I take the chairs from around the table then he will find somewhere else to climb. We'll see how long it takes for him to figure out that drawers can be used as a ladder!

Owen has graduated from the high chair to a 'big boy' chair up at the regular table. He could not stop climbing on the high chair and you know how unstable those are when you have a 30 pound monkey climbing up the front of it! So, out to the garage it goes!
If Owen disappears for more than 30 seconds.....this is what you find!
If you'll notice, in all of the pictures where he is doing something naughty, he has a very proud smile on his face. I think we're in for a lot of trouble.
If I don't move the chairs out of the kitchen, I sometimes put them down on the floor like this. This picture is of the first time I did this and he sat down and leaned against the chair like he couldn't deal with leaving his favorite climbing chair.
He got stuck while climbing in and out of his diaper bucket.

Finally, he climbed into something that wouldn't get him into trouble.
That didn't last long...
...and if we don't put the breakfast things away right when we're done...
Okay, here's the 1% boy pictures:

It's a good thing he's so darn cute!

finding worms
This is what happens if we leave the door open even a little bit...he squeezes himself in there and leans back against the screen. He tries to push his way through the screen. We don't leave that door open anymore while he's awake!

Penelope's 4th Birthday!

4 years old! I can't believe how fast it's gone.

Waiting so patiently...
...and the wait paid off!

We have approval! With that look...I don't think real scissors would be a good idea!
The simple pleasures of a 4 year old...it was a box of cereal she really wanted. She was so excited, I just love it.

Owen's 1st Birthday

He started out so small...
Owen had is very own chocolate cake and everyone else had carrot cake.

He never knew sugar could taste soooooo good!
